Minimalism is about more than cleaning out our closets and getting rid of all our stuff. While those things can be great, they’re not the whole picture. Minimalism is really a way to determine what makes us happy. It’s a tool to help us question what adds value to our lives. When we get rid of all the distractions, we get clear on the things that matter.

Minimalism is a gradual process, a journey of sorts.

And as with every journey, there’s a starting point. Ours was few years ago, when we found ourselves on yet another Monday morning, sitting at our painfully boring desk jobs, in bodies we hated. We’d try to fill the void with fat-free frozen yogurt, another pair of shoes or a Netflix binge. But none of it actually made us feel better. In fact, we felt even emptier.

Finally fed up with going through the motions but never getting anywhere, we knew deep down that something had to change, that there had to be a better way. There had to be more to life than sitting in a cubicle, feeling fat, living paycheck to paycheck, waiting for something to happen. So we started searching for something, anything, more. Because this couldn’t be it, right?

We began studying nutrition, wellness and personal development. We became insatiably curious about the habits, beliefs and values that make people truly happy. We read all the books and tried all the tricks. We meditated, we cleansed and we yogied. We even went to nutrition school together.

Through all of the false starts, trial and error, diet protocols and self-help books, one common theme revealed itself: minimalism. When we started to clear life of the clutter and distraction, we realized who we really are and what we really need to be happy.

Since then, we’ve:

  • Paid off debt
  • Lost weight
  • Fallen in love
  • Saved lots of money
  • Traveled the world
  • Quit those boring desk jobs
  • Found work we enjoy
  • Felt more confident in our own skin

It all started with minimalism. We believe in our heart of hearts that living with less is the key to living well.
