Weekend Reads

weekendreads

Hello, friends. Happy weekend!

It’s shaping up to be a pretty one around here. Hope you stock up on all the vitamin D.

For your down time, a few good reads we’ve enjoyed this week:

A new study from the University of Cambridge analyzed a bunch of personalities and money habits and came up with some interesting results. Turns out money can buy you happiness – if you know how to use it, that is.

More coverage on fast fashion and its affect on the environment and the economy: NPR asks, what happens when fashion becomes fast, disposable and cheap? And if you haven’t already, read our take on the matter here.

This is exciting! Shopping for clean beauty products just got even easier. The Environmental Working Group will now verify healthy personal care products, based on ingredients. Some of our favorite brands like Beautycounter and W3LL People have already made the cut! (PS: check out our recent post on how to clean up your skincare routine).

How cute is this DIY French Stripe Apron from Darling Mag? You can pick up fabric for $5 at a craft store and you’re all set. Give ’em as gifts, or make your own. Then throw some bread in the oven and you’re basically Julia Child.

And finally, get a load of this easy baked cheesecake from Dana over at Minimalist Baker. It’s gluten-free, vegan, and high up on my to-do this weekend.

That about covers it. Happy reading!
