Weekend Reads

crops ops & kale - weekend reads

Hi, hi. Happy weekend!

Hope you’re settling in with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

I’m back in Connecticut after a couple weeks up in New Hampshire and Maine. I spent a lot of time exploring the area and potential spots to live, so lots on the old noggin. Stay tuned on that front!

On my drive home, I got into the Courage + Clarity Podcast. Have you listened? I’m really digging it. This episode with Fizzle Co Founder Chase Reeves, all about a stress-free approach to getting what you want, was fab.

I love this so much. Have you seen this bookstore’s clickbait campaign, or “litbait” as they’re calling it? Their headlines, things like “Teenage girl tricked boyfriend into killing himself” (Romeo and Juliet), and “You’ll never guess what happened to this Kansas teen after tornado destroys her home” (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz) are actually classic novel plots, aimed at millennials with a little nudge to read more books. Litbait. Genius.

One of our fave skincare brands, S.W. Basics, launched a line of essential oils! I’m excited about this, because essential oils always seem complicated to me. Have you ever been browsing around Whole Foods or a health food store just for fun? (Oh yeah, no, same, me either, weird…) The oils section always feels overwhelming, because there are literally hundreds. This blog post lays out the line of fragrances and each of their benefits.

Just added My Two Souths, the 2017 Piglet winner (Food 52’s cookbook competition), to my list. If anything, read the recap written by Jenni Konner, who judged the face off with Lena Dunham.

And speaking of good eats, I was jazzed to come across this list of the best new restaurants in Lisbon from Savuer, as I’m going to Portugal next week!!! Other than having Airbnbs booked, my friend and I don’t have any plans. Any recommendations (food or non-food related)? After Lisbon we’re hitting Madeira.

Have a good one, friends.
